In short: we use your store's camera footage only to send you alerts and reports. We do not use facial recognition, we do not record audio, and we do not sell anything about you or the people in your store.
BasiraVision is a service of Basira LLC, an Illinois company ("we"). This page covers this website and the BasiraVision service we run for stores.
What we collect on this website
- What you type into the pilot request form: your name, store, type of store, number of locations, phone or WhatsApp, email if you give it, and anything you write about your store.
- Standard technical logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP addresses and pages visited. We do not use advertising trackers.
We use form details only to reply to you and set up your pilot. We do not add you to a mailing list.
Camera footage, during a pilot or a subscription
- What we access: the camera streams you choose, through a view-only login you create on your recorder. We do not change your recorder, router or network, and you can delete the login at any time.
- What we do with it: our software detects people and flags moments that may be theft or other events you asked us to watch for. Trained reviewers look at flagged clips before anything is sent to you. We use your footage only to provide alerts and reports to you.
- What we do not do: no facial recognition, no face templates or other biometric identifiers, no audio, no matching against databases of people. People are described by where they are and what they do, for example "customer at aisle 6".
- Where it is kept: off-site with cloud providers, in storage that people at your store cannot alter or delete. Footage is kept for up to 30 days unless you ask us to keep a specific clip longer, for example for a police report or an insurance claim.
- Who can see it: you and the people you name, our reviewers and staff who run the service, and the cloud providers that host it. Our reviewers may work from outside the United States; they work under confidentiality obligations and see your footage only to provide the service.
- When you stop: we delete our copy of your footage within 7 days, apart from clips you asked us to keep.
People who appear in your footage
Store owners are responsible for telling staff and customers that the store uses video surveillance, as local law requires. We provide a one-page staff notice and a door sign with every pilot.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information or footage. We share it only with the service providers that help us run BasiraVision, with you, or when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@basiravision.ai and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this page, we update the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle a customer's footage, we tell that customer first.
